The Africa Regional Development Centre (ARDC) is one of six regional centres working to build and strengthen older people’s organisations around the world which provides a wide range of services related to social protection, sustaining a livelihood in old age, HIV & AIDS, discrimination & abuse, health and emergencies.
The Regional Communications and Information Officer (RCO) is responsible for spearheading strategic communications work for HelpAge International Africa Regional Development Centre.
The post holder will contribute to the profiling and promotion of HelpAge brand on ageing issues and support its advocacy objectives as well as programmes communications.
The RCO will also provide technical support to HelpAge affiliate and partner organizations in developing and maintaining relationships with national and local media.
The post-holder will have relevant experience in developing and implementing communication strategies, sound knowledge of publishing and proven media relations. Educated to degree level, proficiency in IT using variety of editing and publishing software, proven oral and written communication skills and ability to write well designed reports are essential for this role.
